Raywood Ash

Fraxinus oxycarpa ‘Raywood’

  • Incredible seasonal fall color change
  • Deep green colored foliage – darkest of our Ash varieties.
  • Grows to a tall and uniform shape
  • Quick one-time clean up each winter

Raywood Ash can grow to be a large-sized deciduous tree with lustrous deep-green foliage and a round-headed form that casts a perfect amount of summer shade. We love to install them around a home, where its lush canopy can help cool off hotter parts of the home during the warmer season. This is an interesting, fast-growing tree all year long and at any stage of its life, especially when the deep green foliage turns into a wine-red color in the fall, making a scene that you have to see to believe. This is an ideal tree for adding an impressive seasonal fall color change to any landscape and is sure to be admired by all no matter what time of the year it is!

From the Mediterranean, Fraxinus oxycarpa ‘Raywood’is a vigorous grower that loves full sun exposure. Once established, it is drought tolerant and will have low to moderate watering needs, so it’s fairly easy to care for. We love planting them in residential lawns, parking lot islands and other commercial applications where shade is desired. They look fantastic as a single specimen and we also love planting them in a grove. In fact, Raywood Ash is an excellent companion and blends well with other attractive trees such as Chinese Pistache and the Brazilian Pepper Tree. Extra bonus points for its resistance to Ash blight!

We have Raywood Ash trees available in a variety of sizes, custom grown from our own premium quality specimens for the best-quality trees anywhere in Texas! If you want shade and beauty, you’ll love this tree.
