Grow this rapid growing Purple Trumpet Vine on a trellis, garden arbor or a fence, and enjoy the trumpet-shaped violet, lavender or pale purple flowers that create a bright privacy screen! This strong growing vine is from Brazil and Argentina and features glossy dark green leaves that contrast beautifully with the showy purple flowers. Clytostoma callistegioides (botanical name) blooms these beautiful flowers from late spring to fall, so we also like to use them to drape over walls. Their tendrils can clamber over almost anything, so they are also ideal for covering chain-link fences, side-yard utilities and look especially beautiful when trained up porches and railings!

Lavender Trumpet Vine thrives in a spot with partial to full sun exposures. They are also easy to care plants and waterwise, so once established, give it low to moderate water use. Let them grow naturally or feel free to prune them annually to control their size. Feeding with the proper fertilizer is beneficial, and at Big Tex Nursery, we carry the ideal fertilizers for treating Houston’s dense soil. Pick up the perfect fertilizer at any of our nursery locations throughout Houston.

These vines are beautiful, and other plants such as Fountain Grass, Lantana, Rose bushes, and Hibiscus are perfect companions to the Purple Trumpet Vine. Big Tex Tree Nurseries grow the perfect trees, shrubs, and other plants here in our local climate, so they are ready to thrive and beautify your landscape.
